Mrs. Kittie Lee Catlin was the librarian at the Alden Public Library for 29 years, from August, 1911, to February, 1943 with a three year break in the middle.  She made $12 a month. She was married in 1985 to Edgar F Catlin, who died on April 14, 1908.  After that, she worked at the library and the school as a school teacher with Miss Cora J Haeussler.  She would frequently step in to replace other librarians until 1943, where she began working for the Alden Mutual Telephone Company until her death on December 26, 1943.
