Dunlap is a town in Harrison County, which was established on January 15, 1851. Harrison County was named for William Henry Harrison (1773-1841) who served as the ninth President of the United States. The county seat of Harrison is the town of Logan. Harrison County received the highest number of Carnegie grants in Iowa as Dunlap, Logan, Missouri Valley and Woodbine all were recipients.
