Woodbine is a town in Harrison County, which was established on January 15, 1851. Harrison County is named for William Henry Harrison (1773-1841), the ninth President of the United States. The county seat was established at Logan in 1876. Woodbine, Logan, Missouri Valley and Dunlap all received Carnegie grants which made it the county with the highest number of grants in Iowa.
